Key West Bachelorette Party Guide!

Cortney on Balcony in Key West

The Key West Bachelorette Party weekend was a whirlwind. In the best way. I had a flight at 6 AM to Fort Lauderdale and naturally woke up at 5:30, so I went to the airport with wet hair. Not glamorous, but what’s a girl to do!

Landed in Ft. Lauderdale and met up with a girlfriend to drive down to Key West. Y’all this was my first time in the keys and I LOVED the drive. I would totally do that every single time. It was cool to go through the different Keys and get a sense of their vibe. AND seeing the water was the best. I’m such a beach girl and it made me so happy!

Key West reminded me of a cross between Charleston and New Orleans. The architecture is similar to both, the colors and laid back beach vibe are Charleston and Duval Street is like the Bourbon Street of Key West. It was wonderful. In my opinion is was a great place to go with girlfriends for a long weekend and for a bachelorette party because there weren’t that many.

We stayed at a hotel close to Duval street so we walked everywhere, which I love doing and recommend if you ever go. The hotel we stayed at was the Hyatt Residence Harbor, Sunset Harbor. It was right next to the Truman Little White House and one of the cutest neighborhoods I’ve walked through. The hotel was not the most luxurious I’ve ever stayed in, but it was right on the water, had a great pool, friendly staff and was within a two block walking distance to Duval Street and Mallory Square. Overall, it was a great option budget wise and location wise – two very important things for bachelorette/bachelor parties.

Highlights of the trip:

Restaurants

Blue Heaven. It was tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, off the beaten path of Duval street and tourist central. The food was incredible and the staff was amazing. We had the best time with one of their waiters, Lucca! He was hilarious and seemed to entertain patrons often. They also  had a couple of cats that roamed around the outside with mustaches (lol!).

We had a late dinner there, and I had the Jerk Chicken. It was amazing! Everyone also loved the scallops which they wouldn’t share because they were so good! I’ve also heard their brunch is wonderful which I would love to try on my next trip down! I highly recommend this place if you’re traveling to Key West soon.

Sarabeth's Brunch Key West

A couple of other places I really enjoyed was brunch at Sarabeth’s and a dinner at the Southernmost Beach Cafe.  Sarabeth’s is a James Beard award winner, and they have a location in NYC which some of my friends had visited. Sarabeth’s has a flower juice that was delicious, and even better with Champagne added (haha)! Unfortunately, we had a big night out the night before so we were all on the struggle bus during brunch!

Party Spots

Dante’s Pool Bar & Restaurant. We went here on Friday afternoon and there were so many people having the best time playing beer pong in the pool, making friends and dancing to the DJ. This was a great activity to get out of our hotel and meet new people, and the perfect place for a group!

Shopping

There was the cutest store on Duval Street called Antica Sartoria by designer Giacomo Cinque. They had Italian designed clothing and accessories that were inspired by Positano with embellished designs and silk fabrics. I picked up a white and royal blue scarf/cover up that has a coral design on it. I’m obsessed and can’t wait to wear it in Greece this summer!! If you are in Key West, I recommend stopping in because it was such a unique store and  unlike anything I’ve ever seen which I always appreciate!

I really hope I get back to Key West, and I think when I do, I’d love to hop on a boat to fish and snorkel! Also I’d rent bikes and ride around the island. Biking was really popular, and I think that would have been a really cool way to experience the charm of the key a bit more!

I would love to hear about experiences you’ve had in the comments below. I’m always looking for recommendations on things to do in cities that are still new to me!

Thank you for reading!

xoxo,

Cortney
